Dragon Boat Israel Festival at the Sea of Galilee

Description
Join Us for the Dragon Boat Israel Festival at the Sea of Galilee!
May 28 and 29, 2015

The Hebrew University partners with Dragon Boat Israel for its Third International Festival, taking place May 28-29 at the Sea of Galilee!

Dragon Boat Israel (DBI) is a joint Canada-Israel initiative introducing the sport of dragon boat racing to Israel. Dragon boat racing is a dynamic team sport that originated in China centuries ago, but is now quickly gaining popularity around the world. Dragon boat racing is visually spectacular, tremendously fun and widely accessible to almost any age or level of ability. Twenty paddlers, a drummer and a steersperson move in unison, combining strength with teamwork, in a boat whose elaborate design originates in ancient China.

This year's theme is Paddling towards a Healthier World, and funds raised will promote innovative medical research carried out at the Hebrew University on the prevention and care of diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's and autism. Dragon Boat Israel has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for important Israeli causes since its inception.
