Sport Centers on Campus

 

There are three state-of-the-art sports centers on Hebrew University campuses: the Lerner Sports Complex on Mount Scopus, the Safra Sport Center at Givat Ram, and the Rehovot Sports and Leisure Center

These sports centers feature tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields and squash courts (Givat Ram), as well as the most advanced aerobic and weight equipment, and studios for movement and fitness classes (at extra cost). There are also indoor swimming pools, children’s wading pools, water slides for children at the Rehovot Sports Center, a track-and-field stadium (Givat Ram), and tennis and swimming classes. Clinics with dietitians, sports medicine specialists and physical therapists are also available, in addition to expansive lawns and sporting goods shops.

The Student Union offers free entrance to swimming pools and discounted membership to gyms at the university sports centers.

University Sports Teams

 

Hebrew University’s Competitive Sports Unit runs 12 student sports teams. Athletes on these teams receive 2 academic units as part of the Cornerstone program, provided they comply with the team’s obligations throughout the year. 

Hebrew University has competitive teams in the following sports: men’s basketball, women’s basketball, orienteering, chess, swimming, running, duathlon, women’s volleyball, men’s volleyball, women’s futsal, men’s futsal, and tennis.

Firstclass – The Student Union’s Fitness Classes

 

Hebrew University’s Student Union offers a range of fitness classes that meet weekly on the various campuses, at student prices – including Zumba, yoga, Pilates and self-defense.
