Goethe University Frankfurt and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI) have announced a significant step in their ongoing scientific collaboration in the field of childhood studies. The two prestigious universities have signed a cooperation agreement to establish 'The Center for Childhood and Child Welfare in Context'.

In solemn acknowledgment of the one-month anniversary of the Oct. 7th Massacre, we share a recap of the Hebrew University Memorial Service held on Tuesday, November 7th, at 11:00 AM. This event took place at the Edmond J. Safra Campus in Givat Ram, where we gathered to remember and honor the victims, and to demand the immediate and safe return of all hostages. In response to recent events, the Hebrew University is proud to announce the establishment of a dedicated fund aimed at supporting students serving in the reserves, residents of the Gaza envelope affected by a recent terrorist attack, and evacuees from the northern region. Within just three weeks, the university has successfully raised NIS 15 million for this critical cause.

[Jerusalem, Israel] — In response to the recent horrific attack by Hamas on Israel, occupational therapists, researchers, lecturers, and clinicians at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have come together to express their deep concern and disappointment at the silence of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) regarding the Hamas attack on Israel and tragic events that unfolded on October 7th, 2023.

In a new study, a group of researchers, led by Dr. Joshua Goldberg from the Hebrew University, describe a new kind of neurochemical wave in the brain. Their research, published in Nature Communications, unveils the existence of traveling waves of the neurochemical acetylcholine in the striatum, a region of the brain responsible for motivating actions and habitual behaviors.

Over 1,000 leading experts from various fields, including social work, psychology, criminology, law, medicine, and public policy, have joined their voices to urgently call upon the international community to take immediate action in securing the release of Israeli abducted children. The experts believe that every moment that passes increases the risk of irreversible damage to the lives of these innocent children.

In a strongly-worded, unequivocal response letter jointly signed by Prof. Asher Cohen, President of the Hebrew University, Prof. Tamir Sheafer, Rector of the Hebrew University, and Prof. Barak Medina, was dispatched to the Presidents of Harvard and Stanford Universities. This letter comes in the wake of what the Hebrew University officials perceive as shockingly feeble condemnations from these revered institutions in response to Hamas' recent barbaric assault on Israel and the grievous loss of life among the southern residents.
